Ok so this was the 1st Lake Jocassee Kayaking trip for 2010 with lot's of firsts: - First trip to the lake or any outdoor activity in the STi which it did AWESOME !!! Plenty of power to haul me, all the gear and Adrienne and to boot we got a few thumbs up from bunch of people riding in the STi =) - The first trip ever to Jocassee in EARLY April ... Meaning the water was COLD as SH** (in the 40s) - The first time I had to swim for almost and hour in a PFD in frigid water because the water level was sooo high I couldn't do the usual run hike to keep up on land - The first time EVER I experienced almost hypothermic problems ... pale blue nails ... shaking for about an hour non stop - The first time I've ever had poison sumak problems from hiking back on top of the ridges back instead of swimming and getting scraped up pretty bad - The first time EVER I used my Kayak as a two person Kayak (don't ask how ... let's just say we paddled VERY carefully not to get dumped out in the ice cold water =)
But I had sooo much fun even with all the little glitches =)
