Mega(N)TRON - Nikon D90

OK, sooo I was just curious how much of the TRON poster look and fell I can replicate with house hold products and no Photoshop ... now don't laugh but here is the scoop:

- Tripod
- Light Disc: I used a paper plate with the center cut out
- Outer Suite layer: My shorty wet suite
- Inner suite Layers: My long sleeve T and Reebok DryFit gear from kayaking
- Background Lighting: A small Coleman camping LED lantern
- Foreground light streaks: A small key chain LED flash light
- For "spot" light block or diffusion: My auto sun shades, black side to block light, silver side to defuse and create soft light
- The Poor Subject/Patient: Megan (thanks for posing in all those wacky positions for about an hour or so)

For each of the shots, there were at least 1/2 dozen test shots with and without the person in the shot to narrow down proper F stop and Shutter speed and background light source location then another 1/2 to a full dozen final shots to fine tune the foreground light streak patterns.

As for final editing, I only allow myself to use Google PICASA to adjust contrast (IE the exposure level since it's hard to tell how well the exposure turned out on the camera LCD - they always look tons better on the camera LCD)and adjust for software Full B&W or Focal B&B.

From the looks of it ... A couple decent TRON'ish poster shots & in the process learned how to use the Nikon-D90 in FULL Manual Mode (Mission Accomplished)
